Employment Grilling - Liz Morgan

Posted on 19th October 2015

This week we caught up with Liz Morgan, Director of Le Ski Ltd for 32 years, a company that provides ski chalet holidays in the French Alps and grilled her about work.

Perfect working day: Completing lots of things I've been working on for two or three weeks before.

What makes a good boss? Someone who is understanding and works hard.

What advice would you give to your 16 year old self? I'm happy with what I've done. I would have had a year off before uni and considered what I wanted to do at uni more deeply instead of just going through the system.

First job: Working in Boots on Saturdays and school holidays.

Best job: This one.

Worst job: I worked in a veggie restaurant in Germany washing dishes. The good social life made up for the hard work. Grape picking was hard work too.

Best thing about the company: We offer quality and value for money. We're honest – what you see is what you get.

How do you think your employees would describe you in three words? Fair, competent and impatient.

Tip for people applying for a job: Prepare for interviews, be yourself and make sure anything unusual about you stands out.

Batman or Robin? Batman – I like to be boss.
